Description
The Wadfow Pointed Concrete Chisel is engineered for heavy duty demolition and masonry work. Forged from heat treated 45# carbon steel, this 300mm tool delivers powerful impact to break concrete, stone, and brick. Its precise 4mm pointed tip concentrates force for effective piercing and chipping. Ideal for professional construction and renovation projects requiring a durable striking tool.
Features
:- High Strength Material : Made from 45# Carbon Steel, ensuring high impact resistance and structural integrity.
- Heat Treated : The steel undergoes full heat treatment to maximize hardness and prevent the tip from dulling quickly.
- Concentrated Force : The 4mm pointed tip directs all hammer impact into a single spot, making it easier to fracture hard materials.
- Extended Length : At 300mm (12 inches), it provides deep reach and keeps hands further away from the impact zone.
- Hex Shank Design : The 18mm hexagonal shaft prevents the tool from rolling when placed on uneven surfaces.
Applications
:This pointed chisel is specifically designed for penetrating and breaking:
- Concrete Breaking : Fracturing cement floors, slabs, or driveways.
- Masonry Work : Chipping holes in brick walls or stone.
- Demolition : Breaking apart hard materials where a flat chisel would struggle to penetrate.
- Spot Heavy Chipping : Removing excess mortar or slag from welded areas.
Usage
:User Instructions :
- Safety First : Wear safety goggles and heavy construction gloves. As this model has no hand guard, glove protection is vital.
- Positioning : Place the 4mm point perpendicular to the surface you wish to break.
- Striking : Hold the chisel shaft firmly. Strike the flat end squarely with a sledgehammer or lump hammer.
- Technique : Do not bury the tool too deep. Strike, fracture the surface, and then move the point slightly to a new spot to continue breaking the material.
Maintenance :
- Cleaning : Wipe away concrete dust and debris after every use.
- Rust Prevention : Apply a light film of machine oil to the metal surface before storing to prevent rust.
- Resharpening : If the point becomes blunt, rotate it against a bench grinder to restore the sharp 4mm tip. Keep the steel cool with water during grinding.
- Head Maintenance : If the striking end mushrooms (flares out), grind the edges down immediately to prevent metal splinters.
