Description
The Polymak HT-P-WC-5SET is a professional-grade 5-piece wood chisel set engineered to meet the demands of precision carpentry, woodworking, and joinery. Crafted from high-grade drop-forged carbon steel, these chisels feature heat-treated blades designed to retain a razor-sharp edge through grueling projects. Each chisel is built with a heavy-duty steel striking cap at the base of its ergonomic handle, allowing you to use wooden mallets or steel hammers seamlessly for aggressive material removal without damaging the tool.
Features
:- Drop Forged Carbon Steel: Blades are constructed from high-tensile carbon steel, delivering maximum structural durability and prolonged edge retention.
- Steel Striking Caps: Integrated solid steel end caps permit heavy hammer blows, making it easy to slice through tough hardwood knots or mortises.
- Heat-Treated Blades: Specially treated cutting edges resist chipping, dulling, and bending under high-impact forces.
- Ergonomic Steel Handles: Robust handles are ergonomically contoured to minimize hand fatigue while maintaining superb control during fine paring work.
- Comprehensive 5-Piece Range: Includes five essential sizes (12mm to 38mm) to tackle everything from delicate corner cleaning to wide stock removal.
Applications
:- Cutting precise mortise and tenon joints for structural furniture making.
- Paring down excess wood stock, cleaning out tight corners, and recessing hinges.
- General carpentry, cabinetry, timber framing, and artistic wood carving projects.
Usage
:- Step 1: Select the correct chisel width for your cut (e.g., matching a 19mm chisel to a 19mm mortise slot).
- Step 2: Ensure your wooden workpiece is securely clamped to a stable workbench before applying pressure.
- Step 3: For fine wood removal (paring), grip the chisel handle with one hand and guide the blade near the tip with your other hand, pushing forward smoothly with the flat bevel facing up or down depending on the cut type.
- Step 4: For deep chopping or mortising, position the cutting edge precisely on your marked layout line and strike the solid steel cap firmly with a mallet or hammer.
- Step 5: Always push the chisel away from your body and keep both hands behind the sharp cutting edge.
- Step 6: Slide the protective blade guards back onto the tips after use to prevent accidental cuts or blade damage.
