Usage
:- Inspection: Make sure the pivot screw is secure and the blades are clear of debris before using them.
- Positioning: To obtain the greatest mechanical advantage, insert the cable as deep into the cutter's "jaw" as feasible (closest to the pivot).
- The Cut: Make a single, continuous, hard squeeze of the handles. The copper or aluminum strands will be easily traversed by the shear design.
- Limitations: Steel, ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced), and live electrical wires should not be cut with this instrument.
- Maintenance: To preserve the anti-rust coating, wipe the blades with a fresh cloth after each usage and periodically reapply a drop of machine oil to the pivot and blades.
