Description
The Insize 1208-614 Mono Block Vernier Caliper is a heavy-duty manual tool designed for measuring large-scale industrial components. As a Mono Block (or Solid Type) caliper, the main beam and jaws are constructed from a single piece of hardened stainless steel, giving superior rigidity compared to separate-type calipers. It is specifically favored for its 100 mm (4-inch) lower jaws, which enable for deep-reach measurements of bulky workpieces, large pipes, and irregular castings.
Features
:- Mono Block Construction: The sliding vernier and the main scale are engineered for maximum stability, ensuring the jaws do not "flex" under measuring pressure.
- Fine Adjustment: Equipped with a secondary sliding carriage and thumbwheel, essential for micro-positioning on workpieces.
- Satin Chrome Finish: The reading scales are satin chrome-plated to eliminate glare, making the laser-engraved graduations sharp and easy to read
Applications
:- Heavy Engineering: Measuring outside diameters (OD) and wall thicknesses of industrial water, gas, or oil piping.
- Foundry & Machining: Measuring raw castings where the deep reach is required to bypass external ribs or irregular surfaces.
- Machine Tool Calibration: Used for checking the dimensions of large jigs, fixtures, and structural components on milling beds.
- Aerospace Maintenance: Verification of large-scale airframe brackets and wing spar thicknesses.
