Description
The BTALI BT MD16-1350 PRO Magnetic Drill is built to eliminate the need for cumbersome workshop drill press setups, offering true portable precision on any job site. At the heart of this machine is a heavy-duty 1350W copper-wound motor geared explicitly for high torque rather than raw speed. This design ensures that the drill maintains consistent cutting power through thick plate steel and tough alloys without stalling. To maximize operator accuracy and reduce fatigue, the machine utilizes a smooth rack-and-pinion feed system mounted on a precision slide, letting you apply uniform downforce seamlessly.
Safety and stability are paramount when working with heavy steelwork, which is why the PRO line features a massive 11500N industrial electromagnet. When energized on flat steel surfaces (6–10 mm minimum thickness recommended), it creates an unyielding bond that enables safe overhead or vertical operation. Built to rigorous ISO manufacturing standards, its robust housing stands up to harsh, everyday construction environments while protecting critical internal components, making it a reliable lifelong asset for professional contractors and fabricators.
Features
:1350W High-Torque Motor: Geared down to deliver extreme torque for steady, stall-free drilling through thick structural plates.
11500N Electromagnetic Base: Creates an incredibly strong, rock-solid bond to steel surfaces, ensuring complete operator safety during vertical or overhead tasks.
16mm Drilling Capacity: Optimized to handle a versatile range of hole-making requirements using standard twist drill setups.
Precision Rack & Pinion Feed: Provides smooth upward and downward travel on a stable slide, allowing for exact penetration depth with minimal physical effort.
Compact & Portable Build: Packs heavy industrial drill-press capability into a streamlined form factor that is easy to transport across large jobsites.
ISO Certified Construction: Manufactured under strict quality controls with robust housing to ensure prolonged service life in demanding industrial environments.
Applications
:Structural Steelwork: Ideal for drilling bolt and fastening holes into I-beams, H-beams, and structural metal framings directly on the construction site.
Bridge Construction & Restoration: Perfect for on-site drilling during heavy-duty bridge fabrication and structural reinforcing projects.
Shipbuilding & Marine Infrastructure: Utilized across shipyards for creating clean penetrations in heavy steel hulls, bulkheads, and decks.
Commercial Workshop Fabrication: Serves as a space-saving alternative or supplement to traditional stationary drill presses for diverse metalworking tasks.
Heavy Vehicle & Trailer Repair: Great for truck, trailer, and industrial machinery maintenance where drilling must be performed directly on a chassis.
On-Site Plant Maintenance: Essential for modification, pipe routing, and machinery installation setups within factories and processing plants.
Usage
:To ensure maximum safety, precision, and tool longevity, always adhere to the following operational guidelines when using the BTALI BT MD16-1350 PRO:
Surface Preparation: Clean the steel work surface thoroughly to remove any rust, oil, scale, or debris that could compromise the 11500N electromagnetic adhesion.
Material Thickness Check: Ensure the target metal is at least 6mm (preferably 10mm+) thick; surfaces that are too thin will prevent the electromagnet from achieving full holding force.
Safety Chain Deployment: Always secure the machine with the included safety strap or chain when performing vertical or overhead drilling to prevent the tool from dropping in the event of a power outage.
Engaging the Magnet: Place the drill in position, flip the electromagnetic switch to the "ON" position, and physically verify that the base is completely unyielding before starting the motor.
Applying Coolant: Use water-soluble cutting fluid or lubricant during operation to reduce heat buildup, extend drill bit life, and ensure cleaner hole edges.
Steady Feed Rate: Turn the rack-and-pinion feed handles with smooth, consistent downward pressure—avoid forcing or slamming the bit into the material to protect the internal 1350W motor gears.
De-energizing Safely: Once the hole is drilled, fully retract the drill bit while the motor is running, turn off the motor switch, wait for the bit to stop spinning completely, and only then switch off the electromagnet.
