Description
Transform your standard petrol scooter or upgrade your existing electric ride with this high-efficiency, direct-drive rear hub motor. Stripping away the complexity of traditional chain or belt drive systems, this brushless DC (BLDC) motor fits directly into a 12-inch wheel configuration, significantly lowering energy loss and maximizing battery mileage. Its dual-voltage circuitry accepts both 48V and 60V power inputs, giving builders the flexibility to tune their vehicles for longer ranges or snappier acceleration. Built with premium internal components that stay cool under sustained loads, it solves the common commuter problem of sluggish hill climbs and noisy motor hums, ensuring a smooth, dependable journey every time.
Features
:Dual-Voltage Optimization: Runs efficiently on either 48V or 60V configurations, giving you total flexibility over your battery setup and performance targets.
100% Pure Copper Windings: Delivers superior electrical conductivity and maximum torque efficiency while keeping thermal buildup to an absolute minimum.
Direct-Drive BLDC Architecture: Eliminates complex chains, belts, and gears, which drastically drops maintenance requirements and removes mechanical points of failure.
IP65 Weatherproof Sealing: Shields vital internal components against heavy rain, puddles, and dust storms to ensure consistent performance in unforgiving road conditions.
Whisper-Quiet Operation: Features an optimized electromagnetic layout that reduces operational vibration and harsh motor noise for a peaceful ride.
Integrated Drum Brake Assembly: Mounts securely to standard scooter drum brake layouts to provide reliable, responsive, and familiar stopping power
Applications
:- ICE-to-EV Retrofitting: Perfect for converting popular petrol scooters (like the Activa, Jupiter, and Access) into eco-friendly electric vehicles.
Custom E-Scooter Builds: Acts as the primary rear wheel propulsion unit for DIY garage builders and custom e-scooter fabricators.
Urban Commuter Vehicle Upgrades: Upgrades underpowered stock e-scooters requiring higher top speeds and stronger hill-climbing power.
Light Commercial Utility Vehicles: Powers lightweight two-wheeler delivery fleets and cargo-carrying scooters that handle payloads up to 200 kg.
Usage
:Pair with a Quality Controller: Ensure you use a Brushless DC (BLDC) controller rated for at least 30A to 40A continuous current at 48V/60V. Using an underpowered controller will choke the motor’s performance and cause the controller to overheat.
Observe Voltage Limitations: Strictly operate the motor within a 48V to 60V nominal battery window. Exceeding 72V without an advanced, temperature-monitoring controller risks burning out the internal copper winding insulation.
Avoid Standing Submersion: While the motor features an IP65 moisture rating to handle splashing rain and wet asphalt, do not submerge the wheel hub in deep puddles or floodwaters where the water level rises above the center axle line.
Practice Smooth Acceleration: Avoid pinning the throttle to 100% from a dead stop, especially when carrying a heavy load. Rolling onto the throttle gradually protects your battery from massive voltage sags and minimizes stress on the internal motor phases.
Tire Pressure Maintenance: Maintain proper inflation inside your 12-inch tire (typically 32–36 PSI). Low tire pressure creates high rolling resistance, which forces the motor to draw extra current, generating unnecessary heat and draining your battery faster.
Maintenance
:- Check the Axle Wiring Harness: Regularly inspect the power and hall sensor wires where they exit the solid steel axle. Ensure the protective sleeve is intact and that the wires are not rubbing against the frame, which can rub through the insulation and cause a short-circuit.
- Keep the Wheel Nut Torqued: Hub motors produce significant starting torque that can stress your scooter’s frame dropouts. Check monthly that the main axle nuts are tightly locked down and that the torque washers are properly seated.
- Monitor Hub Temperature: After a long, steep climb or high-speed run, feel the aluminum casing. If it is too hot to hold your hand against comfortably (above 70°C), allow the motor to cool down to protect the internal neodymium magnets from losing their magnetism over time.
- Inspect the Cable Entry Seal: Ensure the rubber boot at the axle entry point remains tightly sealed with silicone or a rubber grommet to prevent water from wicking down the wire core into the motor during heavy rain or washing.
- Brake Drum Maintenance: Periodically clear away brake dust buildup from the integrated drum housing using compressed air. Check the internal brake pads for wear to ensure clean, smooth stopping power without binding.
