Description
  • The Taparia 1715 is a robust 1/2‑inch square-drive ratchet handle designed for reliable use in mechanical, automotive, and industrial socket‑wrench assemblies. Made from high‑grade chrome‑vanadium steel and heat-treated for durability, it provides smooth ratcheting action and high strength, making it a versatile tool in any toolkit.

Features

 :
  • Drive Size : 1/2″ square drive, compatible with most 1/2″ sockets.
  • Material : Forged from high-grade chrome-vanadium steel for strength and wear resistance.
  • Finish : Nickel-chrome plating offers protection against corrosion.
  • Heat Treatment : Scientifically heat-treated to increase hardness and torque capability.
  • Ratcheting Mechanism : Smooth, reversible ratchet action — allows tightening in one direction and free movement in the opposite direction.
  • Standard Compliance : Conforms to IS 7991 – 1991 and IS 7975 – 1991.
  • Length : 255 mm, giving good leverage while staying manageable.

Applications

 :
  • Automotive Work : Tightening or loosening nuts/bolts with 1/2″ sockets during vehicle maintenance.
  • Mechanical & Workshop Use : General-purpose ratcheting for machine maintenance, assembly / disassembly.
  • Industrial Maintenance : Useful in service tasks in factories or plant maintenance where torque tool assembly is required.
  • Home / DIY : Handy for DIY repair tasks that require a strong, reliable ratchet.

Usage

 :
Maintenance & Care :

Cleaning : Wipe down the ratchet after use to remove grease, dirt, or metal shavings — especially around the ratchet mechanism.

Lubrication : Periodically apply a few drops of light machine oil or a spray lubricant into the ratchet mechanism to keep the pawls and gear smooth.

Rust Prevention : Even though it has a plated finish, if stored in a damp place, wipe it dry and apply a thin coat of anti-corrosion oil.

Storage : Store in a dry toolbox or socket rail; avoid leaving it exposed to moisture or corrosive environments.

Inspection : Check for any loosening of components, especially the square drive, and ensure the ratchet action remains firm and accurate.

Proper Use : Use the ratchet within its design limits. Avoid using it as a breaker bar (i.e., don’t apply too much force / use cheater pipes) to prevent damaging the ratcheting mechanism.
