Short Description
Reliant Lab Anemometer Cup Counter
As Per ISI
Country of origin: India
Specifications
- Brand: Reliant Lab
- Spindle Material : Stainless Steel
- Number of Conical cups : 3
Description
The apparatus consists of a vertical spindle carrying three or four hemispherical cups at the ends of horizontal arms. As wind blows, the pressure differential between the open and closed sides of the cups causes the spindle to rotate. This rotation is transmitted through a worm gear mechanism to a robust mechanical counter housed in a weatherproof casing. By recording the counter readings at the start and end of a specific time interval, the average wind speed and total distance traveled by the air can be calculated with high accuracy.
Features
:- ISI Compliance: Fully conforms to Indian Standard specifications, ensuring standardized performance and data reliability for official meteorological reporting.
- Three Cup Design: Features a high-sensitivity rotor assembly that provides a more uniform torque and better response to fluctuating wind speeds compared to older designs.
- Mechanical Digital Counter: Equipped with a 5-digit or 6-digit non-resettable counter that records wind run in kilometers or miles with minimal friction.
- Low Friction Bearings: Uses high grade stainless steel ball bearings to ensure the cups start rotating even at very low cut in wind speeds.
Applications
:- Meteorological Observatories: Used by national weather agencies for long-term recording of wind run and average wind velocity.
- Agriculture & Irrigation: Assists in calculating evapotranspiration rates to determine the water requirements of crops.
- Wind Energy Assessment: Used in the preliminary site survey phase to estimate the wind potential of a specific geographic area.
- Aviation & Marine Safety: Installed at small airfields and ports to monitor surface wind conditions for safe operations.
