Description
The Metro Safety SB 1016 is a full-body, commercial-grade Class A personal protective equipment (PPE) harness designed specifically to provide safe fall arrest protection for people working in high-elevation settings. This harness, which is designed to safely stop a free fall and disperse dynamic deceleration forces over the strongest parts of the worker's skeleton, is centered around a rear-mounted high-tensile dorsal D-ring. The assembly's sophisticated automated structural stitching grid ensures unwavering joint strength under severe physical pressures. It is made of sturdy 44mm wide industrial-weave synthetic polyester webbing.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop"
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
Dorsal D-Ring (The Backbone of Fall Arrest):
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
Other features:
- Class A Fall Arrest Layout: Engineered specifically with a heavy-duty rear dorsal D-ring designed to securely catch and decelerate an operator during a fall event.
- Dual-Color Webbing Architecture: Distinct color variance between upper shoulder sections and lower leg loops prevents tangled straps and simplifies morning donning.
- Premium 44mm Polyester Webbing: Constructed out of high-density 44mm synthetic polyester fibers to deliver superior abrasion resistance and long-term durability.
- Automated Machine Stitching: Reinforced with machine-precision automated structural stitch grids that provide exceptional tear resistance and certified strength parameters.
- Multi-Point Full Adjustability: Equipped with sliding metallic pass-through buckles across the chest, shoulders, and thigh loops for a precise, close-to-body profile.
- Certified Compliance: Fully designed and manufactured in accordance with rigid IS 3521:1999 industrial personal fall-safety specifications.
Applications
:- High-Rise Construction Safety: Ideal personal protective equipment for masonry workers, steel structural welders, and concrete pourers on open-floor high-rises.
- Scaffolding and Staging Work: Essential fall-protection gear for laborers erecting, altering, or working on modular scaffolding layouts.
- Roofing and Edge Operations: Excellent safety restraint compatibility for commercial roofing repairs, edge work, and metal sheet clad installation.
- Industrial Facilities Maintenance: Suitable for overhead gantry crane repairs, stadium lighting maintenance, and high-altitude warehouse racking setup.
Usage
:- Thoroughly inspect the entire 44mm polyester webbing, metallic buckles, and structural stitch patterns for cuts, burns, fraying, or chemical erosion prior to every shift.
- Lift the safety harness up by the back dorsal D-ring and shake it gently to allow all leg loops and shoulder components to fall free.
- Guide arms through the loops like wearing a standard vest, positioning the dorsal D-ring squarely between the shoulder blades.
- Pull the independent leg loops between the thighs and couple them securely via the metal adjustment buckles; maintain a fit snug enough to pass a flat hand but not a fist.
- Fasten the front chest strap connection and slide all remaining loose webbing tails neatly into their corresponding plastic retainers.
- Firmly couple a certified shock-absorbing lanyard or retractable fall-arrester block to the dorsal D-ring before crossing into designated fall-hazard lines.
