Description
The Metro Safety SB 1018 is a professional-grade Class L full body industrial safety harness meticulously engineered to protect personnel operating on telecommunication towers, wind turbines, transmission lines, and high-elevation industrial structures. Optimized for vertical climbing mobility and maximum fall protection, this harness features a master rear dorsal D-ring for primary fall arrest alongside two frontal chest attachment D-rings designed specifically for connection to guided-type fall arresters or vertical climb lifelines. Fabricated from premium, abrasion-resistant 44mm wide synthetic polyester webbing, the assembly features machine-precision automated structural safety stitching to ensure outstanding structural load integrity under intense physical shock.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop"
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
Dorsal D-Ring (The Backbone of Fall Arrest):
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
Other features:
- Class L Tower Climbing Design: Specifically designed with a master dorsal D-ring for primary fall arrest and two frontal chest D-rings ideal for vertical lifeline tracking.
- Dual-Color Webbing Architecture: The black leg loops and orange upper body straps have different colors, making donning easier and preventing twists.
- 44mm Industrial Polyester Webbing: Designed for long-term field durability, it is made of high-density, weather-resistant synthetic polyester fibers.
- Automated Machine Stitching: Strengthened with machine-precision automated structural stitch grids that offer proven strength standards and outstanding tear resistance.
- Multi-Point Full Adjustability: Provides a precise, close-to-body profile with sliding metallic pass-through buckles across the thigh loops and chest.
- Certified Safety Standards: Completely produced and tested in compliance with IS 3521:1999 industrial personal fall-safety requirements.
Applications
:- Telecommunications and Cell Towers: Perfect safety harness for telecom technicians climbing vertical ladders on cellular arrays and broadcast pylons.
- Power Transmission Line Work: Ideal personal protective equipment for utility linemen scaling high-voltage steel lattice transmission towers.
- Wind Energy Maintenance: Essential safety gear for climbing internal and external structural ladders on wind turbine towers.
- Industrial Ladder Ascent: Suitable for silo maintenance, chimney inspections, and high-altitude facility structural access using fixed vertical lifelines.
Usage
:- Thoroughly inspect the entire 44mm polyester webbing, metallic buckles, and structural stitch patterns for cuts, burns, fraying, or chemical erosion prior to every shift.
- Lift the safety harness up by the back dorsal D-ring and shake it gently to allow all leg loops and shoulder components to fall free naturally.
- Guide arms through the loops like wearing a standard vest, positioning the orange straps over the shoulders and the dorsal D-ring squarely between the shoulder blades.
- Pull the independent black leg loops between the thighs and couple them securely via the metal adjustment buckles; ensure a snug fit that allows a flat hand but not a fist between the strap and leg.
- Fasten the front chest strap connection, aligning the dual chest D-rings symmetrically over the breastbone, and slide all loose webbing tails into their corresponding keepers.
- Securely couple your vertical cable/rope grab traveler to the dual frontal chest D-rings when ascending towers, and always maintain a reliable backup anchor line hooked to the rear dorsal D-ring.
