Description
The Metro Safety SB 1019 is an industrial-grade Class E full body safety harness that has been carefully designed for this purpose. This harness has two customized sliding shoulder D-rings (one on each shoulder strap) that help with upright vertical extraction and maintain the operator's vertical orientation during rescue or entry. In order to offer strong primary fall arrest protection, this is combined with a master rear dorsal D-ring. This harness features a high-strength automated structural stitching grid that guarantees unwavering structural load integrity under extreme shock stresses. It is made of heavy-duty, 44mm wide, high-density synthetic polyester webbing.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop"
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
Other features:
- Class E Confined Space Layout: Equipped with two sliding D-rings on the shoulder straps for easy vertical entry, exit, and emergency rescue retrieval.
- Master Fall Arrest Point: Features a high-tensile rear dorsal D-ring designed to securely capture and arrest an operator during a free-fall event.
- Dual-Color Webbing Design: Contrasting orange upper torso straps and black thigh loops minimize tangled webbing and simplify the donning process.
- 44mm Industrial Polyester Webbing: Woven out of top-tier, abrasion-resistant polyester fibers engineered for long-term field durability and high load resistance.
- Automated Safety Stitching: Machine-controlled structural stitch patterns offer consistent load-bearing parameters and outstanding seam tear resistance.
- Multi-Point Full Adjustability: Equipped with heavy metallic pass-through friction buckles across the chest and thighs for a highly tailored, close-to-body fit.
Applications
:- Confined Space Retrieval: Ideal for workers lowered into or hoisted out of manholes, utility vaults, underground wet wells, and pumping stations.
- Tank and Silo Maintenance: Excellent personal protective equipment for cleaning crews entering fuel storage tanks, grain silos, or large industrial vats.
- Sewer and Pipeline Operations: Mandatory safety gear for municipal sanitation workers inspecting narrow wastewater pipes and underground infrastructure.
- Industrial Rescue Operations: Essential rescue harness for technical response teams performing emergency vertical extractions in tight spaces.
Usage
:- Thoroughly inspect the 44mm polyester webbing, adjustment hardware, and structural stitching for cuts, chemical degradation, or broken fibers before every use.
- Lift the harness by its rear dorsal D-ring and shake it down gently to allow all shoulder straps and leg loops to fall naturally into place.
- Slip the shoulder straps over the arms like a vest, positioning the sliding entry/exit D-rings symmetrically on top of each shoulder.
- Pull the independent black leg loops between the thighs and couple them securely via the metallic adjustment buckles; maintain a fit snug enough to pass a flat hand underneath.
- Fasten the front chest strap connector, ensuring it sits comfortably across the chest, and feed loose webbing tails through the plastic retaining keepers.
- Attach a certified rescue spreader bar or retrieval tripod lifeline system to both sliding shoulder D-rings for vertical entry/exit operations, and maintain a secondary independent lifeline connected to the dorsal D-ring for fallback arrest safety.
