Description
The DARIT ABC 4 kg Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher (MAP 50%) is a versatile, medium-capacity fire extinguisher designed for multipurpose use, featuring a 50% concentration of mono ammonium phosphate (MAP), making it suitable for Class A, B, and C fires as well as electrical hazards.

Features

 :
  • FOR CLASS A, B & C FIRES: Class A fires commonly involve paper, cardboard, textiles, fabric and wood. Class B fires involve solvents, lacquers, petroleum and grease. This extinguisher can be used on Class C fires involving flammable gases if the gas source can be isolated (e.g. hob or cooker). Never try tackling a Class C fire if you cannot isolate the source. Do not use on cooking oil and fat fires (F class). Suitable for use on electrical fires (may cause damage to delicate electronics).
  • This ABC powder extinguisher provides peace of mind as no maintenance is needed, simply annually check the pressure gauge is green. It is corrosion and rust-free, ensuring its reliability in times of need. The extinguisher is ISI marked, which means it meets Indian standards for quality and safety. These ratings and certifications ensure that this fire extinguisher can be relied upon when the heat is on, giving you confidence that you have a reliable fire safety tool at your disposal.
  • Follow these simple steps to operate it effectively: First, remember the acronym PASS: Pull, Aim, Squeeze & Sweep. To begin, hold the extinguisher steady and release the safety pin by wrapping your finger around the safety pin and pulling firmly. Aim the extinguisher at the base of the fire and squeeze the handles together, directing the jet of powder towards the base of the fire. Finally, sweep from left to right until the extinguisher has been fully used.
  • Ideal for use in vehicles, caravans, boats, and a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Fast extinguishing speed and ability for continuous or intermittent spraying make it easy to operate in an emergency situation. Can help to contain flames and prevent them from spreading, providing added peace of mind in case of an emergency.

Applications

 :
  • Grasp the extinguisher and remove the safety pin located at the top of the handle.
  • The pin keeps the extinguisher from being accidentally discharged. Once removed, the extinguisher is ready for use.
  • Point the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire, not the flames.
  • Targeting the base is crucial because this is where the fire’s fuel source is located.
  • Firmly squeeze the handle or trigger to discharge the extinguishing agent.
  • Squeezing releases the agent inside, allowing it to fight the fire.
  • Sweep the nozzle or hose from side to side, moving slowly and covering the entire area of the fire.
  • Continue sweeping until the fire is completely out. Be ready to repeat if the fire reignites.

Usage

 :
  • Class A – Fires involving solid combustibles like wood, paper, and textiles.
  • Class B – Fires caused by flammable liquids such as petrol, oil, and grease.
  • Class C – Fires involving flammable gases like propane, butane, and methane.
  • Class D – Fires involving flammable metals such as magnesium and titanium.
  • Class E – Fires caused by electrical equipment like appliances and wiring.
  • Class F/K – Fires caused by cooking oils and fats, ideal for kitchen fires.
