Farmroot Entomopathogenic Nematode (EPN) is a biological insecticide consisting of beneficial microscopic roundworms (e.g., Steinernema and Heterorhabditis species) that naturally seek and kill soil-dwelling insect pests such as white grubs, root grubs, termites, cutworms, weevils, and fungus gnats by entering the pest's body and releasing symbiotic bacteria that kill the host within 24–48 hours. It is eco-friendly, residue-free, safe for beneficial organisms, humans, and animals, and compatible with organic farming and integrated pest management programs. Application includes soil drenching, drip irrigation, or spraying, typically with 50–100 million nematodes per acre, effective on vegetables, fruits, sugarcane, turmeric, floriculture, and turf.Entomopathogenic nematodes comes in contact with the insect, enters into the body through natural openings along with associated bacteria, causes septicemia (blood poisoning), nematodes kills the insect and feeds on it. The product is available in powder form. The nematodes complete their development and live for two or three generations inside their host. When food is depleted, it will emerge from host cadavers searching for new hosts.
