Usage
:Mode of Action
- Spore Ingestion: Larvae ingest Bt spores along with plant material.
- Spore Activation: In the larval gut, spores dissolve, releasing protein crystals.
- Protoxin Activation: Gut enzymes convert crystals to active Bt toxins.
- Binding: Toxins bind to midgut cells, forming pores.
- Cell Lysis: Pores cause cell membranes to burst, disrupting digestion.
- Death: Starvation and death follow.
Application
- Gardening: 5-10 ml per liter of water.
- Agriculture: 1-2 liters per acre.
Precautions
- Apply 2-3 days before chemical pesticides for effective control of young larvae.
- Optimal application temperature is above 18°C; best results are achieved when spraying in the evening or at temperatures above 30°C.
- Reapply every 10-15 days for continuous control.
