Short Description
Reliant lab Melde’s Apparatus Osaw Type
For Standing Wave Analysis
Country of origin: India
Specifications
- Brand: Reliant Lab
- Product Quantity : 1 Piece
Description
The Melde’s Apparatus consists of an electrically driven tuning fork mounted on a heavy cast iron base. One prong of the fork is equipped with a small hook to which a thin, strong cord is attached. This cord passes over a low friction pulley and terminates at a scale pan for adding weights. An electromagnet is arranged between the prongs of the fork without touching it. A small spring type strip just is attached to the one of the prong. A screw just makes contact with this strip, scale pan, bench clamp with pulley but without weight & thread.
Features
:- Electrically Maintained Tuning Fork: Features a high-quality steel vibrator driven by an electromagnetic coil, ensuring a constant and stable frequency throughout the experiment.
- Fine Adjustment Pulley: Equipped with a precision-machined, low-friction pulley mounted on a height-adjustable pillar for perfect string alignment.
- Heavy Cast Iron Base: The massive, vibration-dampened base prevents the apparatus from "walking" or shifting during high-frequency operation.
Applications
:- Measuring Frequency: Used to determine the frequency of the AC mains or the tuning fork itself by analyzing the number of loops formed.
- Standing Wave Analysis: Visualizing the concepts of nodes, antinodes, and the formation of stationary waves in a medium.
- Linear Density Calculation: Used to find the mass per unit length of various strings.
- Effect of Tension on Velocity: Studying how the speed of a wave in a string changes as the tension is increased or decreased.
