This model is constructed on a heavy, seasoned wooden board with a premium Sunmica base, which offers superior electrical insulation and resistance to moisture and warping. It features a one meter long uniform Manganin or Constantan wire stretched alongside a graduated scale. The inclusion of a Spring Type Jockey is a major upgrade over traditional sliding jockeys, as it allows for instantaneous, vertical contact with the wire. This prevents the "scraping" effect that thins the wire over time, ensuring the bridge maintains its accuracy and wire uniformity for years of laboratory use.
