Description
The Reliant Lab Resistance Box (Plug Type) is a precision passive electrical instrument designed to introduce specific, highly accurate resistance values into a circuit. The device operates on the "Plug and Socket" principle: each brass plug sits in a gap between heavy brass blocks. When a plug is inserted, it creates a short circuit across the gap; when removed, the current is forced to travel through a precision-wound coil of Manganin or Constantan wire housed beneath the ebonite plate. Enclosed in a seasoned teak wood case, these boxes are indispensable for bridge measurements, calibration, and general laboratory electrical testing.
Features
:- Non Inductive Winding: Coils are wound using a double back non inductive technique to eliminate parasitic inductance, making them suitable for both DC and low frequency AC applications.
- Heavy Brass Blocks: Features thick, CNC machined brass blocks mounted on the surface to ensure negligible contact resistance and high electrical conductivity.
- Tapered Interchangeable Plugs: Equipped with accurately ground, tapered brass plugs with insulated heads, ensuring a tight mechanical fit and low resistance electrical contact
Applications
:- Potentiometer Experiments
- Determination of Internal Resistance
- Galvanometer Shunting
- Bridge Calibration
