The Reliant Lab Resistance Box (Plug Type) is a fundamental high-precision electrical instrument used to introduce specific, repeatable resistance into a circuit. The device operates on a simple yet effective "short-circuit" principle: when a brass plug is inserted into the gap between two heavy brass blocks, the current bypasses the internal coil. When the plug is removed, the current is forced to flow through a precision wound coil of Manganin or Constantan wire. Housed in a seasoned teak-wood case with a thick ebonite top, these boxes are essential for bridge circuits and sensitive electrical measurements.
