Description
The Reliant Lab Resonance Apparatus is a fundamental acoustics instrument used to determine the speed of sound in air at room temperature. The setup consists of a long, vertical glass or plastic tube partially filled with water, which acts as a closed end air column. By adjusting the water level and vibrating a tuning fork of known frequency over the open end, students can identify the exact points where the air column vibrates in sympathy with the fork, producing a significant increase in sound volume.
