Short Description
Reliant Lab Resonance Apparatus Brass Pipe
1 inch Dia
With Polished Wooden Board
Country of origin: India
Specifications
- Brand: Reliant Lab
- Pipe Material : Brass Pipe
- Length : 1 Meter long
- Pipe Dia : 1 inch
Description
This apparatus features a high grade, 1-inch diameter brass pipe mounted vertically against a finely polished wooden board. The board serves as both a stable mounting surface and a high-contrast background for the graduated scale. A glass or plastic leveling bulb is connected to the bottom of the brass tube via flexible rubber tubing. By adjusting the vertical position of the reservoir on the board, the water level within the pipe is manipulated to change the length of the resonating air column.
Features
:- Polished Wooden Mounting Board: Provides a rigid, professional grade chassis that ensures the vertical alignment of the tube and offers a clear background for reading measurements.
- Dual Graduated Scale: Features a permanent, easy to read metric scale mounted directly on the wooden board for instantaneous measurement of the air column.
- Leak Proof Connectivity: Uses reinforced flexible tubing and industrial grade seals to ensure the water level remains constant during critical readings.
- Reinforced Stable Base: The wooden board is supported by a heavy cast iron tripod base with leveling screws to eliminate vibrations and ensure perfect verticality.
Applications
:- End Correction Determination: Used to calculate the end correction required for accurate acoustic measurements.
- Harmonic Analysis: Demonstrates the existence of odd harmonics in a closed-end pipe (nodes at the water surface and antinodes at the mouth).
- Acoustics of Wind Instruments: Serves as a model for understanding the physics of pipe organs, flutes, and other woodwind instruments.
- Environmental Physics: Used to study how the speed of sound changes with humidity and ambient temperature in a controlled lab setting.
