Description
The Metro Safety SB 1012 Full Body Harness, as shown in image_4ebd57.png, is a commercial-grade personal protective equipment (PPE) safety asset meticulously engineered for individuals working in high-elevation industrial, construction, and rescue settings. Centered around a rear-mounted dorsal D-ring and two front chest attachment textile loops, this safety belt is purpose-built to catch and decelerate an operator during a free fall, safely distributing dynamic deceleration forces across the skeletal structure to prevent injury. Fabricated from premium, abrasion-resistant 44mm wide synthetic polyester webbing, the assembly features an advanced automated structural stitching pattern that guarantees high joint strength and unyielding performance under load.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
UV Degradation & Weather Resistance:
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
Other Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop"
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
Other Features:
- Fall Arrest Protection: Equipped with a high-tensile back dorsal D-ring designed specifically to securely capture and decelerate a worker during a fall.
- Dual Front Attachment Points: Features two chest attachment textile loops to accommodate frontal vertical lifelines, guided fall arresters, or rescue setups.
- Dual-Color Layout: Employs a contrasting strap color scheme to differentiate the shoulder section from the leg loops, effectively minimizing tangled straps and reducing donning time.
- Premium 44mm Webbing: Constructed out of industrial-grade 44mm wide synthetic polyester webbing engineered for superior abrasion resistance and long-term service durability.
- Automated Safety Stitching: Joint interfaces rely on machine-controlled automated stitching patterns that ensure consistent strength parameters under sudden dynamic loads.
- Adjustable Sizing Buckles: Built with heavy-duty metallic pass-through friction adjustment buckles across the chest and thigh straps for a highly customized, snug profile.
- Certified Compliance: Fully manufactured to meet rigorous safety metrics in strict conformance with the EN 361:2002 industrial European safety standard.
Applications
:- High-Rise Construction Staging: Fundamental fall protection for masons, ironworkers, concrete pourers, and general laborers on exposed multi-story floors.
- Ladder and Vertical Ascent Climbing: Front textile loops are ideal for attaching a rope grab or cable guide traveler when climbing vertical utility ladders.
- Scaffolding Assembly: Essential safety harness for tradespeople erecting, altering, or working on modular scaffolding frameworks.
- Industrial Plant Upkeep: Suitable for overhead facility maintenance, gantry crane rail repairs, and tall industrial equipment inspections.
- Commercial Roofing Works: Perfect safety constraint compatibility for roof repairs, metal cladding installations, and solar panel setups along open edges.
Usage
:- Thoroughly inspect the 44mm polyester webbing, adjustment hardware, textile loops, and automated structural stitches for cuts, burns, chemical erosion, or fraying before every shift.
- Hold the safety harness up by its back dorsal D-ring and shake it gently to allow all orange and black straps to fall free naturally.
- Guide arms through the straps like wearing a vest, positioning the dorsal D-ring squarely between the shoulder blades and checking that the dual-color bands are not flipped.
- Pull the leg loops comfortably between the thighs and secure them snugly through the metal pass-through buckles; adjust so a flat hand can slide underneath but not a fist.
- Fasten the front chest strap connection buckle and route any loose webbing tails neatly through the elastic keepers.
- Securely couple a certified shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline to the dorsal D-ring or dual chest textile loops (brought together with a certified carabiner) before crossing into designated fall-hazard perimeters.
