Description
The Metro Safety SB 1023 Full Body Harness is a commercial-grade personal protective equipment (PPE) asset meticulously engineered to provide superior multi-point safety anchoring for workers operating at high elevations. This robust safety harness combines an essential rear dorsal D-ring for primary fall arrest with two front chest attachment D-rings, maximizing safety options across construction sites, industrial facilities, and vertical ladder ascents. The dual-anchoring array works to cleanly catch and decelerate an operator during an accidental free-fall, distributing high deceleration forces safely across the skeletal system to mitigate dynamic impact injuries.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
Moisture Absorption & Wet Performance:
UV Degradation & Weather Resistance:
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop"
Moisture Absorption & Wet Performance:
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
UV Degradation & Weather Resistance:
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
Dorsal D-Ring (The Backbone of Fall Arrest):
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
- Multi-Point D-Ring Configuration: Outfitted with a high-tensile rear dorsal D-ring designed for mandatory fall arrest alongside two front chest attachment D-rings optimized for vertical climbing lanyards or guided-type fall arresters.
- Anti-Tangle Dual-Color Layout: Employs a contrasting strap color scheme to differentiate the shoulder section from the leg loops, effectively minimizing twisted webbing and reducing morning donning time.
- Industrial 44mm Webbing Width: Built entirely out of heavy-duty 44mm wide premium synthetic polyester fibers engineered for superior abrasion resistance and long-term service durability.
- Automated Safety Stitching: Structural joint interfaces feature machine-controlled automated stitching patterns that ensure consistent joint integrity and outstanding seam tear resistance under dynamic shock loads.
- Comprehensive Sizing Adjustability: Outfitted with heavy-duty metallic pass-through friction adjustment modules across the shoulder, chest, and thigh straps for a highly customized, snug, and secure fit.
- Certified Site Compliance: Fully manufactured and batch-tested to satisfy rigid industrial safety metrics in strict conformance with the EN 361:2002 personal fall-protection standard.
Applications
:- High-Rise Structural Construction: Fundamental fall protection gear for masonry workers, steel builders, and concrete crews operating near open building edges.
- Ladder and Vertical Ascent Climbing: Dual front chest D-rings are ideal for attaching a rope grab, cable guide traveler, or guided vertical lifeline system when climbing long structural ladders.
- Modular Scaffolding Maintenance: Essential safety harness for construction personnel erecting, adjusting, or performing daily tasks over temporary scaffold platforms.
- Industrial Facility Management: Ideal for technical maintenance crews inspecting tall gantry cranes, overhead material conveyors, and high-clearance manufacturing grids.
- Commercial Roofing & Cladding Work: Excellent fallback arrest support during the alignment of solar panels, roofing sheet layouts, and outdoor facade trims.
Usage
:- Thoroughly inspect the 44mm polyester webbing, steel attachment D-rings, friction buckles, and automatic structural stitches for cuts, burns, chemical erosion, or fraying before every shift.
- Hold the safety harness up by its back dorsal D-ring and shake it gently to allow all orange and black straps to fall free naturally into place.
- Guide your arms through the straps like wearing a vest, positioning the dorsal D-ring squarely between the shoulder blades on the upper back and checking that the dual-color bands are not flipped or twisted.
- Pull the independent leg loops comfortably between the thighs and secure them snugly through the metal pass-through buckles; adjust so a flat hand can slide underneath the strap but not a clenched fist.
- Fasten the front chest strap connection buckle and route any loose webbing tails neatly through the designated elastic or plastic keepers.
- Securely couple a certified shock-absorbing safety lanyard or a retractable self-locking lifeline block to the rear dorsal D-ring or dual chest D-rings before crossing into designated fall-hazard perimeters.
