Description
The Metro Safety SB 1024 Full Body Harness is a premium-tier industrial personal protective equipment (PPE) asset uniquely engineered for high-altitude technicians, wind turbine operators, tower climbers, and rescue personnel who demand maximum suspension stability. This specialized harness features a comprehensive 5-point D-ring layout consisting of a rear dorsal and a front sternal D-ring for primary fall arrest, a central ventral D-ring at waist level for specialized rope access work, and dual lateral side D-rings designed for hands-free work positioning.
Features
:Polyester Material Features:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
Moisture Absorption & Wet Performance:
UV Degradation & Weather Resistance:
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
Mechanical Strength & Shock Absorption:
- Because it does not stretch easily, it keeps structures highly stable. This is why industrial full-body safety harnesses heavily rely on polyester—it ensures a falling worker is caught immediately without a dangerous stretching "drop".
Moisture Absorption & Wet Performance:
- Polyester is highly hydrophobic (it repels water). It absorbs less than 1% of its weight in moisture. Because it stays dry, a polyester strap or net retains 100% of its rated breaking strength, structural dimensions, and weight even when completely submerged or used in torrential rain.
UV Degradation & Weather Resistance:
- Polyester has excellent natural resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to harsh, direct sunlight over months or years, polyester maintains its molecular integrity, color, and breaking strength extremely well, making it the premier choice for outdoor industrial or marine applications.
Abrasion & Chemical Resistance:
- Polyester offers exceptional resistance to acids, bleaching agents, and organic solvents. However, it can weaken if exposed to strong alkalis (bases) at high temperatures. It features fantastic resistance to scratching and surface pilling.
Dorsal D-Ring (The Backbone of Fall Arrest):
- Placement - The Dorsal D-ring is located on the upper back, positioned exactly between the shoulder blades.
- Primary Purpose - It is the universally mandatory connection point for Fall Arrest systems. If a worker falls free from a structure, the dorsal connection is designed to catch them safely.
Sternal D-Ring (The Frontline for Climbing & Rescue):
- Placement - The Sternal D-ring is located on the front of the chest, directly over the sternum (breastbone).
- Primary Purpose - It is primarily engineered for Guided Fall Arrest (vertical climbing systems), Controlled Descent, Confined Space Rescue, and Ladder Safety Systems
- Comprehensive 5 D-Ring Array: Equipped with 1 back dorsal and 1 front sternal D-ring for fall arrest, 1 lower ventral D-ring for sit-harness rope access, and 2 lateral side D-rings for side work positioning.
- Advanced Cushion Soft Padding: Features dense comfort lining on the shoulder, waist, and leg straps to maximize air circulation, distribute body weight evenly, and offer extended comfort during long suspension periods.
- Anti-Tangle Dual-Color Layout: Employs a contrasting upper-to-lower strap color scheme to prevent twisted loops and significantly cut down rapid morning donning times.
- Industrial 44mm Polyester Webbing: Woven out of top-grade, high-tensile 44mm wide polyester fibers calculated to minimize dangerous elasticity stretch and resist daily environmental abrasion.
- Automated Machine Safety Stitching: Structural joints rely on high-precision machine-controlled automatic stitch grids to ensure uniform load-bearing reliability and ultimate seam strength under dynamic drop stress.
- Full Multi-Zone Adjustability: Fitted with high-tensile pass-through metallic adjustment hardware allowing precise, customized adjustments on the shoulders, chest, and thighs.
- EN 361:2002 Safety Compliance: Engineered and batch-certified to meet standard regulatory guidelines in full conformance with the EN 361:2002 fall protection codes.
Applications
:- Professional Rope Access Operations: Unmatched stability for industrial window washers, high-rise facade cleaners, and vertical inspection technicians.
- Wind Turbine & Renewable Energy Upkeep: Essential tracking and suspension gear for turbine blade maintenance technicians climbing high nacelle platforms.
- Telecommunications Tower Work: High-security anchor control for rigging engineers climbing grid towers, cell pylons, and microwave stations.
- Confined Space Vertical Rescue: Ideal configuration for tactical emergency responders lowering into or hoisting out of storage silos, manholes, and storage tanks.
- Structural Bridge & Gantry Engineering: Continuous protection for workers performing structural welding or painting tasks suspended beneath highway bridges.
Usage
:- Rigorously inspect all 44mm webbing panels, steel D-rings, friction buckles, padding seams, and automatic stitching for any structural degradation, cuts, or chemical stains before commencing work.
- Lift the harness safely by the rear dorsal D-ring, checking that all padded components hang freely without being inverted or twisted.
- Step inside the leg loops and slide the upper portion over the arms exactly like donning a vest, allowing the sternal D-ring to sit center-chest and the dorsal ring to position firmly between the shoulder blades.
- Securely latch the integrated waist belt first, followed by the left and right thigh loops, pulling the webbing through the pass-through buckles until a snug fit is achieved.
- Lock the front chest adjustment module to square the shoulder padding smoothly across the collarbones, making sure no loops compress nerve paths tightly.
- Attach primary descend/ascend hardware to the central ventral ring for vertical rope access, clip lanyards to the lateral side rings for work positioning, or hook self-retracting lifelines to the dorsal/sternal points for direct fall arrest.
