Description
The apparatus consists of a polished wooden box with glass windows on all sides to prevent air currents from affecting the magnet's oscillation. A vertical tube stands atop the box, housing a torsion less silk fiber or phosphor bronze wire. This fiber holds a brass stirrup, where the test magnet is placed. A mirror strip is fixed at the base of the box with a longitudinal line to help the user align the magnet and count oscillations without parallax error.
