Usage

 :
Maintenance & Care Tips : To keep the router running smoothly and safely :

Clean Regularly :
  • Blow out dust from vents and motor housing using compressed air or a soft brush.
  • Ensure the plunge mechanism is free of sawdust or wood chips.

Inspect Collets & Bits :
  • Check collet wear periodically; a worn collet can lead to bit slipping.
  • Use the correct collet size (6 mm, 8 mm, or ¼″) matching the bit shank for secure grip.
  • Tighten collet properly but avoid over-tightening which can damage the bit or collet.

Lubrication :
  • Apply a little light machine oil to the plunge guide rails occasionally to maintain smooth plunge movement.
  • Wipe off any excess oil before routing to avoid contaminating the workpiece.

Depth Adjustment :
  • Recalibrate plunge depth stops regularly to ensure accurate depth control.
  • Make shallow test cuts when using a new bit or adjusting depth.

Safety Checks :
  • Always unplug the router before changing bits or making adjustments.
  • Use eye protection and, if possible, dust extraction or a mask — routing generates a lot of fine dust.

Storage :
  • Store in a dry, clean place when not in use, preferably in its box.
  • Keep bits stored separately to avoid dulling or damage.

Regular Inspection :
  • Check the power cord for damage or fraying.
  • Test the switch and plunge lock mechanisms periodically to make sure they are working reliably.
