Any type of water pollution causes poor intake, which exposes your cow to microorganisms that cause sickness. To get your animal to drink more water, feed her plenty and make sure the feeds have a greater dry matter content. For every liter of milk a cow produces, at least three liters of water are required. Thus, high-yielding cows require about 150 liters of fresh water daily. And this quantity may possibly be more in hot and arid climates.
