- Spread the mortar evenly on the brick/block bed using the flat surface of the trowel.
- Use the pointed tip to reach into joints or corners as needed, shaping and smoothing the mortar.
- Place the brick or block onto the mortar bed and press gently into position, adjusting as required.
- After setting the block, use the trowel edge to strike off any excess mortar, smoothing and finishing the joint.
- Continue the process brick by brick, keeping the mortar levels consistent and joints neat.
- Periodically wipe the blade clean between uses to maintain efficiency and prevent build-up.
Maintenance Guidance :
- After use, rinse the trowel blade with water to remove all mortar or cement residues, then wipe dry to prevent corrosion.
- Store the trowel in a dry, clean area; avoid leaving it outdoors exposed to rain or moisture.
- Check the handle and connecting rod for any signs of looseness or wear; tighten or replace if needed.
- If the blade becomes nicked or damaged, lightly file or smooth the edge before the next use to preserve performance.
- Apply a light coat of machine oil occasionally on the blade (especially if carbon steel) to protect against rust when stored for long periods.
- Avoid using the tool for prying or excessively heavy work beyond its intended purpose, to prolong its lifespan.
