Description
The Reliant Lab Inertia Balance is a clever laboratory instrument designed to demonstrate that mass is a measure of inertia, independent of gravitational pull. Unlike a spring scale or a beam balance which measures weight the inertia balance allows students to determine the inertial mass of an object by measuring its period of vibration. When one platform is displaced and released, it oscillates with a frequency determined solely by the mass placed upon it.
Features
:- Dual Platform Design: Features a fixed end for clamping to a lab bench and a movable end for holding test masses.
- Gravity Independent Measurement: Designed to oscillate horizontally, effectively neutralizing the influence of gravity on the period of vibration.
- Universal Mass Tray: The oscillating platform includes a recessed area or pre-drilled holes to securely hold standard slotted weights or irregular objects.
- Low-Friction Performance: Engineered to maintain oscillations for an extended period, allowing for highly accurate timing over multiple cycles.
Applications
:- Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) Analysis
- Calibration of Spring Constants
- Space Science Simulation
- Quantitative Error Analysis
