- The Taparia OGS 1200 is a compact yet heavy-duty striking screwdriver with a 10 × 1.2 mm flat tip. Built for impact use, it features a strong silico‑manganese steel blade and a durable handle with a steel cap, allowing it to withstand hammer strikes without damage. Ideal for high‑torque maintenance and repair tasks.
Features
:- Blade made from high-grade silico‑manganese steel, offering strength and spring-like flexibility.
- Scientifically heat-treated (differential hardening) for wear resistance and torque endurance.
- Precision‑ground tip for a firm grip in screw slots.
- Magnetized tip to help lift or hold screws in place.
- Nickel‑chrome plated blade for corrosion resistance.
- Handle made from cellulose-acetate (CA) plastic: non-flammable and resistant to oil, grease, petrol, and water.
- Steel cap on the handle to allow hammer strikes without damaging the handle.
- Conforms to IS 844‑1979 standard.
Applications
:- Maintenance & Repair : Useful for loosening or tightening slotted screws when extra impact is needed.
- Mechanical Workshops : For applications where screws are stuck or rusted and require hammering.
- Construction / Fabrication : To apply force when installing or removing flat-head fasteners in structural work.
- Automotive Work : For engine or bodywork where high torque and striking are required.
- Industrial Use : In plants or machines, especially during breakdowns or assembly where screws are tight or corroded.
Usage
:Maintenance & Care :
Clean After Use :
- Wipe the blade after use to remove grease, oil, or any debris.
- Use a dry cloth; for stubborn grime, a mild solvent (compatible with steel) works.
Prevent Rust :
- Although it has a nickel-chrome plating, it's good practice to lightly oil the blade occasionally to prevent rust, especially if used in humid or corrosive environments.
Inspect the Tip :
- Check the tip periodically for wear or deformation. If the tip is rounded or chipped, its effectiveness will reduce, and it could damage screws.
- If the tip is severely worn, consider replacing the screwdriver.
Store Properly :
- Store in a dry toolbox or on a rack — avoid leaving it loosely in damp or high-humidity areas.
- Avoid storing it with highly acidic or basic chemicals that could damage the handle or blade.
Use Correctly :
- Use the correct size screwdriver for screws — don’t force a 10 mm flat tip into a much smaller slot.
- When striking, use a hammer suited for tool striking and avoid excessive force to protect the handle and blade.
Re-magnetization (Optional) :
- If the magnetic tip loses strength over time, you can re-magnetize it using a small magnetizing tool or a strong magnet.
