The ST-6672 air nipper is a precision pneumatic cutting tool designed for efficient trimming and cutting of fine copper wires, steel wire, and small plastic parts. It features a compact form-factor (overall length 120 mm/4.7″) for ease of handling and minimal operator fatigue. Equipped with a replaceable blade (B-S20 series), this nipper provides clean, accurate cuts and is well suited for electronics manufacturing, wiring harness production, small-component trimming and precision plastic work. The recommended air pressure is ~6.2 bar/90 psi.
Features
:
Cutting capacity (Ø) : Copper wire up to 1.0 mm; steel/iron wire up to 0.5 mm; plastic material up to 2.0 mm thickness.
Grip size (Ø) : 30 mm – provides a slim comfortable grip for manual operation.
Air consumption / cycle : ~64 cm³ per cycle (≈0.064 L) at the specified operating pressure.
Recommend Air Pressure : 6.2 bar (approx. 90 psi) for optimum performance and cutting power.
Overall length : 120 mm (≈4.7″) – compact size suitable for tight working areas.
Lightweight construction : Net weight only ~0.13 kg (0.29 lbs) – reduces operator fatigue in repetitive work.
Replaceable blade system : Uses blade series B-S20, enabling cost-effective maintenance and long tool life.
High precision cut : Designed for consistent, repeatable performance in trimming fine wires and plastic sprues with minimal burr.
Ergonomic design : Slim profile and good balance make it easier for operators to manipulate, especially in dense assemblies.
Applications
:
Trimming copper wires in electronics assembly, circuit board wiring, and harness production.
Cutting steel or iron wire of small diameter (≤0.5 mm) used in small fasteners or components.
Snipping small plastic parts, sprues or trimming plastic mouldings up to ~2.0 mm thickness.
Precision work in jigs or fixtures where access is restricted and a compact tool is required.
Ideal for production environments where speed, repeatability and minimal cleanup (clean cuts) are desirable.
Use in mass-production electronics, connectors manufacturing, telecom hardware, small appliance wiring trimming and plastic finishing operations.
Usage
:
Air Supply Setup : Ensure the compressed air supply is clean (filter/moisture trap) and regulated to ~6.2 bar (≈90 psi). Excessively high pressure may shorten blade life or reduce safety margins.
Blade Inspection & Replacement : Before operation, inspect the blade for wear, nicking or misalignment. Use only the recommended B-S20 series blade. Replace if cuts become rough or require more force.
Operator Grip & Fatigue : With the tool being lightweight (~0.13 kg), operators still should maintain a comfortable grip and not over-torque the tool. Because of repetitive use, consider using anti-vibration gloves if applicable.
Material Preparation : Ensure wires/plastic parts are appropriately positioned so the blade enters at the correct angle. For best results, keep the cut zone accessible and avoid jamming or pushing sideways.
Cycle Speed & Air Consumption : At average 64 cm³ per cycle, ensure the air hose and compressor can supply adequate volume and maintain pressure under load to avoid slowdowns or tool lag.
Maintenance: Periodically clean the tool, keep the air inlet free of particulates, use lubricator if recommended, and ensure blade alignment remains correct. Store tool in a safe place to protect blade edges when not in use.
Safety : Always wear appropriate eye/face protection when trimming wires or plastics, as small cut-offs can eject. Do not use the tool beyond its specified capacity (e.g., trying to cut larger wires may damage blade or tool).
Work Station Setup : For assembly lines, ensure adequate hose length and airflow, secure foot pedal or trigger mechanism (if used), and have a waste bin or vacuum for cut-offs to maintain cleanliness and workflow efficiency.
