A hand blender, also known as stick blender, is a handheld kitchen tool used for beating ingredients directly in the container. It's designed with a long handle which provide better beating.
Features
:- Easy to maintain
- Easy to grip for easy operations
Applications
:- Lassi and Buttermilk: It's a classic tool for manually churning curd with water and spices to make lassi and buttermilk (chaas).
- Making Butter: It can be used to churn cream or yogurt to separate and collect homemade butter.
- Mixing Batters: The whisking action is great for mixing batters for pancakes, dosas, or other dishes to get a smooth consistency.
- Whisking Eggs: It effectively beats eggs for omelets or scrambled eggs.
- Pureeing & Mashing: It can be used to mash cooked vegetables, like potatoes for a rustic mash, or to make small quantities of puree.
Usage
:- Prepare a Container: Place your ingredients (e.g., curd and water for lassi) into a tall, narrow container or a deep pot.
- Insert the Blender: Place the wooden buttermilk maker into the container, ensuring the whisking end is fully submerged in the mixture.
- Hold and Roll: Hold the wooden handle between your palms, with one hand on top of the other.
- Churn Manually: Quickly rub your palms together back and forth. This will cause the blender to spin rapidly, churning the liquid.
- Serve: Continue this motion until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. Then, remove the blender and serve the product.
