:- Set Up the Machine : Place the idli steamer on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the machine is connected to both the gas supply (if using gas) or electric power (if using electricity) and is clean.
- Prepare the Idli Batter : Mix rice and urad dal (split black gram) to make a smooth batter. Let the batter ferment for 8-12 hours.
- Add Water : Fill the base of the steamer with water (enough to generate steam) and ensure the water level is not too high.
- Arrange the Trays : Grease the idli trays lightly with oil to prevent sticking, and pour the prepared idli batter into the idli molds on each tray.
